About NOW company:

NOW Foods began with a simple mission, and they provide high-quality, low-cost nutritional supplements. Abbott Laboratories acquired the NOW brand in 1986. In 2005, the company was acquired by Swiss drug giant Novartis AG, and about a year later, the products were reformulated to meet U.S. Good Manufacturing Practices standards. They also have come a long way since their early years of operation - developing products and building facilities in response to fast-paced natural industry changes. NOW is one of the most trusted supplements brands in America and has several products with a large percentage of sales in the raw food and beverage industry.

NOW's mission is to provide high-quality, low-cost nutritional supplements that consumers highly desire throughout the United States. They do this through several methods. First, they strongly focus on environmental sustainability and work closely with their suppliers and manufacturers to achieve the stated goals. One example is the development of the NOW Sports Nutrition line. Now Foods was founded in 1968 by Leonard Roberts, a businessman from Chicago who believed that consumers weren't always getting the best deal on nutritional supplements. He set out to give people what they were telling him they wanted - great-tasting, low-cost supplements - and he put his family's limited resources behind that mission. Today, NOW Products are sold in more than 7,000 stores in the U.S. and Canada. In 2015, NOW Foods was acquired by health supplements company Global Food Concepts.

When were Capsule Fillers created?

The capsule filler machine was invented and created by a German man named Tony Knoefel. In 1967, Tony Knoefel patented his invention. The first capsule filler had five rows of ten columns and was put on the market in 1969. It wasn't until 1971 that the first factory that used these machines started mass-producing capsules for its customers.

Nowadays, there are many producers worldwide who make different types and sizes of filling machines. The most common size is the one Tony Knoefel patented in 1967. The capsules are still used for vitamins and supplements, but they have also been used in the food industry to fill with any food. They can be filled with candies, fruit and even meat.
